What distinguishes the BIOS in the market is just the shape and design of zoom by Manufacturer BIOS, but the basic components that make up the BIOS remains the same. There are only a few new BIOS provides additional facility including jumper settings processor settings that can be set from the BIOS. BIOS Asus P2BF consists of :

BIOS Setup
System has a BIOS setup utility, when you turn on the computer system provides the facility to run the program. This setup appears during the POST (Power On Self Test). By pressing the <Delete> many ways to enter the BIOS if using another mainboard ie CTRL + ALT + ESC, CTRL + ALT + F1 F1, CTRL + ALT and other sebagainy. Then you can use the Setup Utility. If you are a little late to press a button to get into the BIOS POST routine will soon resume.

Standard CMOS Setup
Standard CMOS setup option allows you to record some basic system hardware configuration and set the time from administration of the system and error (error). If the mainboard has been installed on a system that already works you do not need to select this option. However the CMOS configuration is still required if you use the mainboard is lost or damaged, or if you want to change your system configuration, you have to replace some of the existing configuration. Usually missing or incorrect configuration when battery power weakened (CMOS Battery Low)

  • IDE HDD AUTO DETECTION : Use this setting to automatically insert the HDD specifications are used.
  • USER : Use these settings to manually enter the specifications of the HDD being used. This applies if the HDD is no longer able to detect the IDE Auto Detection.
Specifications include hard disk type :
  • CYLS many cylinders description
  • HEAD many details Read Write head
  • Write Precompensation information PRECOMP
  • LANDZ description Landing Zone
  • The number of sector information SECTOR
  • MODE NORMAL readings consist of HDD is used to drive smaller than 528 MB; for hdd larger than 528 MB, which also contains Logical Block Addressing LBA; LARGE for drives larger than 528 MB do not support LBA.
Auto Detect Hard Disk on Bootup
In the Primary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Master, Secondary Slave you can select Auto on the Type and MODE are useful for detecting your hard drive automatically at bootup.

While setting the R / W means you want to use the floppy drive as a whole where the floppy can be read and can also be used as a storage medium.
IDE HDD Block Mode Sector
Part of this increase hard disk performance by making multi-sector transfers instead of one sector per transfer. Most IDE drives, except older versions can handle these utilities. The default (HDD MAX)
